Measurement Guide

How a Centi Atelier suit is measured

Twenty-eight to forty-two measurements, depending on garment.

The fit of a Centi Atelier suit begins with the measurement. We capture between 28 and 42 individual measurements depending on garment, taken in person by a master tailor or by a Centi-trained traveling tailor. Remote clients are guided through our digital measurement protocol.

Upper body

Twelve measurements for the jacket.

Shoulder width, shoulder slope, blade prominence, chest, waist (jacket point), seat, jacket length, sleeve length, biceps, cuff, neck, posture (forward or back). Each is taken in a relaxed stance, with the client wearing only a shirt.

Lower body

Eight measurements for the trouser.

Waist (trouser point), seat, hip, thigh, knee, calf, trouser length (outseam), inseam. Trousers are measured with the client's preferred trouser break in mind — full, half, no break.

Posture notes

What the measurements alone cannot show.

Posture, gait, dominant arm, asymmetry, and personal preferences (high or low armhole, full or trim seat, drop ratio) are recorded as notes alongside the measurements. These notes are how a master tailor sees a client through paper.

Frequently asked questions

Can I be measured remotely?

Yes. Our digital measurement protocol guides you through every measurement with video instruction. A short follow-up call with an atelier specialist confirms the order.

How long does a measurement appointment take?

Approximately 30 to 45 minutes for a first appointment. Subsequent appointments (you are already in our system) take 15 to 20 minutes.

Do you keep my measurements on file?

Yes. Your measurements are stored in our partner-protected order system and used for every subsequent order — no need to be re-measured each time, though we recommend a refresh every two years.

What should I wear to my measurement appointment?

A shirt you would normally wear with a suit, your preferred trousers, and your usual dress shoes. We measure on the body and on the way you wear it.
